When the economy sours, budgets get cut. Fine Arts programs of then land on the cutting block early because they are not seen as

essential. According to an article in the Providence Journal, "In many cases, (School) districts are cutting Art programs, calling them

luxuries they can no longer afford." Art programs do have value, but people have to prove their value to the officials in charge of the

budgets or find a way to garner budgetary support another way. Organized, creative, vocal groups of people can counteract the cuts

and save the Arts programs. With every Art Show or item sold Keeping Art Alive gives back to other non-profits and causes.
